Adam David Brown in New Exhibition at Koffler Center for the Arts

Adam David Brown is included in the exhibition, We're in the Library at the Koffler Centre for the Arts. The exhibition which opened on November 19 and continues until January 19 was curated by Mona Filip and also includes work by Sara Angelucci, Barbara Astman,  Michelle Gay, Ido Govrin, Vid Ingelvics and Jon Sasaki.

Joy Walker at Harbourfront Centre and Rodman Hall

Joy Walker is included in the exhibition Between the Lines which opened at Harbourfront Centre on Friday. The exhibition which was curated by Melanie Egan continues until December 29.

Joy's solo exhibition, Fade to Black opens at Rodman Hall on October 4 and continues until January 5.

Five MKG127 Artists in Canadian Art Hop Auction This Thursday, Sky Glabush Panelist on Hop Day

Adam David Brown, Sky Glabush (pictured above), Kristiina Lahde, Roula Partheniou and Joy Walker have works in at the Canadian Art Hop Auction this Thursday at the Carlu.

Hop Day is this Saturday beginning at 11 AM with a panel discussion at the Drake Hotel featuring Sky Glabush along side Dana Claxton and Yam Lau.

The Dundas West tour begins at Cooper Cole (1161 Dundas St. W.) at 2:45 PM and includes a visit to Dean Drever's exhibition, B/W V.2 at MKG127.

On October 25, his exhibition location/dis-location(s): contingent promises opens at Grunt Gallery. That exhibition continues until November 30.

Gwen MacGregor in Artists' Walks Exhibition at New York's Dorsky Gallery

Gwen MacGregor is included in the exhibition Artists' Walks: The Persistence of Peripateticism at the Dorsky Gallery in Long Island City, New York. The exhibition which was curated by Earl Miller opens on September 8 and continues until November 17. Some of the other artists included in the exhibition are Marina Abramovic, Janet Cardiff & George Bures Miller, Hamish Fulton, Neil Goldberg, General Idea and Richard Long. Gwen is also exhibiting collaborative work with Sandra Rechico in the exhibition. Additionally, Gwen and Sandra will be presenting a performative work Map It Out on September 6, 7 & 8 in partnership with the Noguchi Museum and the Socrates Sculpture Park.

Bill Burns' Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Choir Performing in Australia

Bill Burns' Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Childrens Choir is performing in Launceston, Tasmania in Australia today as part of the Junction Arts Festival. There will be two performances, one in the evening as well as a matinee.

Laurel Woodcock Included in the Exhibition, David Cronenberg: Transformation at MOCCA

Laurel Woodcock is among the artists commissioned to create new works for the exhibition, David Cronenberg: Transformation at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. The exhibition which opened last night was curated by David Liss the artistic director & curator at MOCCA, and Noah Cowan, the artistic director at TIFF Bell Lightbox and also includes work by Candice Breitz, James Coupe, Marcel Dzama, Jeremy Shaw and Jamie Shovlin. The exhibition continues until December 29.

Dave Dyment in The String and the Mirror

Dave Dyment is in a group exhibition at Lisa Cooley in New York City. The String and the Mirror is curated by Lawrence Kumpf and Justin Luke, and features conceptual soundworks by Alan Licht, Christof Migone, Rolf Julius, Ultra Red, Marin Rosenfeld, Akio Suzuki and others.

The opening reception is August 1st at 6pm. The String and the Mirror runs from August 1st until the 28th.

Kristiina Lahde in The Spectacle of Play at the Art Gallery of Hamilton

Kristiina Lahde is included in the exhibition, The Spectacle of Play at the Art Gallery of Hamilton. The opening reception is tomorrow from 7-9 PM. Curated by Melissa Bennett, the exhibition also includes work from Barbara Steinman, Rick Pottruff, Joseph Calleja, Alan Flint, Simon Wilms, Aubrey Reeves, Graeme Patterson, Karine Giboulo and Marcel Dzama. The exhibition continues until January 12, 2014.

Liza Eurich Exhibition at Neutral Ground

Liza Eurich is part of a two person exhibition with Kevin Rodgers entitled Alignments at Neutral Ground in Regina. A week prior to the exhibition, the two participated in a production residency at the University of Regina. Along with the exhibition, Eurich and Rodgers created an artist multiple that will be distributed across the city and within the gallery. The exhibition opened on June 8th and runs until July 12th.

The exhibition was inspired by the 1970 catalogue as exhibition Art in the Mind.

Curated by Ann Torke and Nanette Yannuzzi,  some of the other artists in the exhibition include Vito Acconci, Victor Burgin, Guerrilla Girls, Gary Neill Kennedy and Adrian Piper.

Kristiina Lahde Criss-Cross at Open Studio

Kristiina Lahde’s exhibition Criss-Cross opens tonight at Open Studio from 7-9 PM. The exhibition is the result of her visiting artist residency there. There will be an artist talk starting at 6PM prior to the reception.The exhibition continues until June 22. 

Instant Coffee - The Hero, the Villain, the Salesman, the Parent, a Sidekick and a Servant at Teck Gallery

Instant Coffee’s new installation The Hero, the Villain, the Salesman, the Parent, a Sidekick and a Servant is opening tonight at Simon Fraser University's Teck Gallery, on the ground floor of the Harbour Centre in Vancouver. The installation will act as a stage for social interaction within a contemporary art context. The exhibition will be up May 11, 2013 until April 27, 2014.

The reception is tonight, Wednesday May 15, from 6 - 8.

Jayce Salloum is part of the exhibition The Biography of Images: Parallel Biographies at the Audain Gallery at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver that opens on May 8^th at 7pm. The show is curated by Sabine Bitter and Ruth Horak and other artists included are Thomas Freiler, Krüger & Pardeller, Tatiana Lecomte, Christian Mayer, Sissa Micheli, and Anita Witek, Arni Haraldsson, Tim Lee, Kyla Mallett, Kevin Schmidt, and Elizabeth Zvonar.

Dave Dyment's new work The Morning Has Gold in Its Mouth is part of a group exhibition CAFKA@ The Walper Hotel in Waterloo which opened yesterday. Two MKG127 Artists on 2013 Sobey Art Award Ontario List

David R. Harper and Kristiina Lahde have both been longlisted in Ontario for the 2013 Sobey Art Award. Also listed is Sonny Assu (West Coast and Yukon) who recently exhibited at MKG127 in  Toolkit and Brenda Draney (Prairies and the North) who exhibited at MKG127 in Go Figure.

A Biennale, A Film Festival And An Important Collection - Bill Burns

Bill Burns is presenting classic works from his Safety Gear for Small Animals series and his recent Triage Tents at the Biennale International Saint Etienne in Saint Etienne, France. The biennale takes place from March 14-31, 2013.

Burns presented his short film Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Children’s Choir Video Sessions at the Festival International DU FILM SUR L’ART  in Montreal on Friday March 22, 2013.

The Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Children’s Choir Video Sessions are vignettes of members of the Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Children’s Choir. The choir has recently produced a high fidelity 33 RPM vinyl LP and the 100 voice choir will be featured at the Junction Arts Festival in Tasmania, Australia in September 2013. 

The Getty Center in Los Angeles  recently acquired  Burns’ limited edition called Guard Tower Plans, Prison Cell Plans and the Songs of Guantanamo Bay. All proceeds from this edition benefit Art Metropole.

Dave Dyment in Volume: Hear Here at Blackwood Gallery

Dave Dyment has two works included in the exhibition Volume: Hear Here opening at the Blackwood Gallery at the University of Toronto Mississauga campus tonight from 5 - 8 PM. The exhibition also takes place at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery at U of T's Toronto Campus with an opening there tomorrow from 7 - 9 PM. The exhibition is curated by Christof Migone and some of the other artists included are John Oswald, Ian Skedd, Marla Hlady, Rafael Lozano - Hammer, Sylvia Matas, David Merritt, Ryan Park and John Wynne. 

The exhibition continues until March 10.
